This expansion creates both opportunity and responsibility. With so many perspectives and interpretations available, it becomes essential to approach history with both a strong foundation of knowledge and a genuine passion for inquiry. Without these, critical thinking can easily become shallow or misdirected. The earlier that foundation is built, the more individuals can grow into thoughtful, informed citizens—and the more they can inspire others to do the same.

For this reason, I am proud to announce the expansion of my bibliography beyond Jimmy Carter: A Peanut Life to the Presidency. This new phase represents not just more books, but a broader civic mission: to make history engaging, accessible, and meaningful for younger audiences. As this chapter of my civic journey grows, there are several key elements that define what this new series aims to achieve.

First, the series is grounded in connection: from idea to idea, from event to event and ultimately from the reader to the book. The most effective way to engage people in history is to present it as a story. Stories thrive on relationships: between people, events, and ideas across time. In any compelling narrative, nothing exists in isolation. Every decision, conflict, and outcome reveals something deeper about human nature, leadership, and society. This series leans into that principle by intentionally linking events across presidencies and highlighting how one moment shapes the next.

In the series, each presidency will be more than just a standalone entry, but a chapter in the page of America. Decisions in the past create situations which require even more decisions. Either way, they’re all interconnected. Readers will not only learn what happened, but why it mattered and how it continues to influence the present. Additionally, each book will include a clearer sense of setting to help readers fully understand the context in which decisions were made. By presenting both the achievements and shortcomings of each presidency, the series aims to offer a balanced, nuanced perspective that encourages critical thinking rather than mere passive memorization.

The second key aspect is the introduction of consistent visual and analytical features throughout the series. To strengthen engagement and deepen understanding, each book will incorporate elements such as flags, maps, timelines, and political cartoons. By interacting with these visuals, readers begin to interpret sources, recognize symbolism, and understand how information was communicated during different time periods from the 18th century to the present. Each book will also include brief sections that highlight real historical documents (speeches, letters, or campaign materials) adapted for accessibility. These sections will help readers build early familiarity with primary sources while guiding them in how to think about perspective, bias, and intent.

The third and final aspect to look forward to is the series’ emphasis on civic relevance. History is a tool for understanding the present and shaping the future. Each book will conclude with a section that connects historical themes to modern civic life, encouraging readers to think about how leadership, policy decisions, and citizen participation continue to matter today. Whether it is voting, community involvement, or informed discussion, the goal is to empower readers to see themselves as active participants in the ongoing story of American democracy.

Ultimately, this series is about more than learning facts. It is about building individuals who can analyze, connect, and ultimately act. By combining storytelling, visual learning, and civic application, the series aims to make the informative transformative.
